It’s been a rough start to the 2026 season for Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf, to put it mildly. The former Pro Bowl receiver has caught eight passes for just 67 yards through two games, and costly drops have plagued him in the early portion of the campaign.
And while fans have already grown tired of Metcalf, so too has one Steelers legend.
Former All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell took to X to share his frustrations, questioning why the Steelers paid Metcalf to begin with.
“Somebody tell
me what DK did to get paid so much by Pittsburgh,” Bell wrote. “Bro can’t catch for s—t.”
Bell knows a thing or two about catching passes in Pittsburgh. He had 312 receptions in a Steelers uniform, including two seasons with north of 80 receptions and seven total receiving touchdowns.
Should Metcalf not be able to pull it together this season, there will be plenty more notable voices outside of Bell making their irritation known.
