We’ve done it. Welcome to Episode 200! With the double FIFA international window in full effect for the men and an important window coming up next weekend for the women, this 200th episode dives into the soccer that brought this podcast to life in the first place.
On the men’s side, the USMNT have 2 big wins halfway through the window, with 2 more to go. And, the youth movement was in full display and looks impressive! We discuss some of the players that have made an immediate impact with Concacaf
rivals Mexico and Canada coming up.
We also review the rosters for the USWNT and the U-23 WNT as they convene for training camp (this was recorded before the news that Jordynn Dudley was ruled out of U-23 camp due to injury, being replaced by Carina Lageyre). We talk about what Emma Hayes is trying to do by giving 50 players a chance at some playing time on the international level rather than just focusing on the team that will take on Spain in DC and Philly.
Finally, on our 200th episode, we pay tribute to you, the listener. We reflect back on how far we’ve come, and the show hopes to keep moving onward and upward. Thanks to everyone who has listened, shared the pod with someone, or otherwise showed their support. It’s an honor to do this show for you.
