Earlier this week, Marcel Louis-Jacques named Dolphins linebacker Jordyn Brooks as the most likely player on the team to receive an extension. He cited the new deals that running back De’Von Achane and center Aaron Brewer signed earlier this offseason when claiming that it’s reasonable to assume Brooks is next in line to get the bag.
But what if the Dolphins don’t keep Brooks? What if they were to trade him for future draft capital?
A hypothetical scenario recently floated by Bleacher Report looks
into the possibility that Brooks could be dealt if a deal isn’t reached with the Dolphins. What kind of return could Miami get if they were to pull the trigger on a trade?
Bleacher Report has the Dolphins sending Jordyn Brooks and a 2028 5th-round draft selection to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 2027 2nd-round pick and a 2028 fourth-round selection. The writer, Gary Davenport, posits that Brooks would be the finishing touch on an offseason that has seen Dallas revamp their entire defense. He even claims that adding the 28-year old stud would put the team over the top and potentially lead the Cowboys to their first Super Bowl since the franchise’s glory days of the 1990s.
So, if you’re Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, are 2nd and 4th round picks enough to part with the NFL’s leading tackler in 2025? Let me know in the comments below or on Twitter/X at @MBrave13. Fins up!
