The New England Patriots entered the weekend with some serious question marks on the defensive side of the ball. Whereas linebacker Robert Spillane was already declared out for the game with an ankle injury, four other starters were labeled as questionable.
However, all of them have been cleared for the Patriots’ matchup with the Baltimore Ravens: defensive tackle Christian Barmore (knee), linebacker Harold Landry (knee) and cornerbacks Carlton Davis (hip) and Marcus Jones (knee) all were given the green
light ahead of Sunday Night Football.
Crucial players to the Patriots’ defensive operation, all four of them missed practice time this week. Landry, Davis and Jones were all DNPs on Wednesday and Thursday before a return in limited capacity on Friday. Barmore, meanwhile, was limited Wednesday for non-injury related reasons, a full participant on Friday, and eventually absent Friday.
Both Davis and Jones suggested on Friday that they would be good to go for the prime time game in Baltimore.
The Patriots’ inactives, meanwhile, looks as follows.
Patriots inactives
- QB3 Tommy DeVito
- WR Efton Chism III
- TE C.J. Dippre
- OT Marcus Bryant
- LB Robert Spillane
The only player already ruled out before the contest, the aforementioned Robert Spillane will effectively miss a second straight game due to injury.
The 30-year-old suffered what was originally labeled a foot injury ahead of New England’s loss to the Buffalo Bills last week, but despite being made active for the contest remained on the sideline as an emergency-only option. Now, he is officially on the inactives list in a game for the first time since the 2022 season.
As for the rest of the Patriot’ inactives, all of them are healthy scratches and regulars on that particular list.
Ravens inactives
- QB3 Cooper Rush
- WR Tylan Wallace
- OT Joseph Noteboom
- DT C.J. Okoye
- DT Aeneas Peebles
- CB Chidobe Awuzie
The Ravens will miss starting cornerback Chidobe Awuzie because of a foot injury. They will, however, have all three of their questionables — S Kyle Hamilton (ankle), LT Ronnie Stanley (knee/ankle), NT John Jenkins (illness) — available.
Kickoff between the Patriots and Ravens at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium is set for 8:20 p.m. ET.
