Star wide receiver Garrett Wilson has been in the concussion protocol all week. He will not be cleared in time for Sunday’s Week 9 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The only real silver lining here is that unlike in the rest of Wilson’s career, in 2026 this team does have a number of other weapons in the passing game.
Of course when a team is on a losing streak, the last thing anybody wants to see is the number one
option out for a difficult road game.
Omar Cooper has a pair of 100 yard games in the last three weeks. The Jets will presumably lean more on him in this game. Maybe they will even start getting Kenyon Sadiq more involved. The rookie has largely been phased out of the offense since a 100 yard game in Week 3 against the Lions.
Wilson’s absence makes a difficult task that much harder.
