Bayley received an unexpected mention during Thursday’s episode of WWE Main Event as Lyra Valkyria faced Wren Sinclair.
During the match, announcer Blake Howard wondered if Valkyria had seen the last of Bayley. In a rare move, Vic Joseph acknowledged their recent run-ins at WWE live events in California.
Last Saturday in Stockton, Bayley attacked Valkyria, leading to a triple threat for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship with then-champion Sol Ruca. A similar scene unfolded Sunday in Bakersfield.
Both times, Ruca prevailed.
A week earlier, on the July 18 episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event, Valkyria defeated Bayley after Bayley passed out to a bulldog choke. After the match, Valkyria slammed the former Women’s Champion on the ring steps.
The post-match angle seemed to write Bayley off TV amid reports that her contract expires at the end of the year. Neither Valkyria nor Bayley were on Raw this past Monday.
The fact that Bayley’s name was brought up on commentary — specifically in reference to those live events, which WWE typically ignores — is an encouraging sign that she should be back on WWE television at some point to continue her feud with Valkyria.
