Uros Medic is not getting paid by the hour.
Following a blistering first-round knockout in his previous outing, Medic produced the exact same result in his latest fight after scoring a vicious knockdown
and then putting Muslim Salikhov away in just 63 seconds at UFC Vegas 111. Funny enough, he also finished Gilbert Urbina in 63 seconds as well.
It was an impressive showing with Medic showing no fear going up against another lethal striker but he was the one delivering the fight finishing blows this time.
“Everybody knows I come in here to fight,” Medic said. “Win or lose, I’m coming to put on a show. These guys need to stop skimming me on these bonuses. Sure I lose sometimes, but I’m just a human being. I’m going to come back here and put on a show every godd*mn time.
“I said it’s going to be his kicking versus my boxing and I know I’m going to come out on top.”
With a 100-percent finishing rate in the UFC, Medic had no desire to go to the judges’ scorecards so he came out right away guns blazing ready to exchange. Salikhov, who is well known for his creative kicks and nasty power, just looked overwhelmed as Medic was throwing everything at him before he ever got settled into a rhythm.
That’s when Medic unleashed a perfectly timed straight left hand that crushed Salikhov and sent him stumbling to the canvas. Medic followed him to the ground where he continued unloading punches until the referee stepped in to stop the fight.
The win moves Medic to 3-1 in his past four fights and 12-3 overall in his career. He proves time and time again that he’s a go big or go home kind of fighter so it’s likely Medic gets another high profile matchup for his next fight to stick by his incredibly finishing rate in the octagon.
