Pregame notes
Mystics head back to Toronto and the Coca-Cola Coliseum, the site where Washington started this season. Mystics are coming off a win over the Storm this past Sunday and look to continue their winning ways. The game on Tuesday night will mark the third
out of four games against the Tempo this season, with the Mystics winning the first two games.
The last time the Mystics took on the Tempo, they won on an amazing buzzer beater turnaround jumper by Sonia Citron at CareFirst Arena.
Despite the end result, if there is one thing the team needs to change, it’s guarding Marina Mabrey, who went for 27 points in that game. The All-Star guard for the Tempo is a difficult cover and has the ability to put up points in a hurry. The Tempo are missing Mabrey’s running mate, and former Mystic, Brittney Sykes, so they are not completely at full strength.
Mystics need to string some wins together. This season has been very up and down. A great sign of an ascending team is the ability to win consistently and beat the teams they are supposed. A team that is behind them in the standings and is missing a key contributor, should be a recipe for a win. Let’s see if Washington can make it happen.
