Lamine Yamal has explained why he pulled out a Thierry Henry style celebration after scoring for Spain against Croatia in the Nations League.
The Barcelona teenager was on target twice in the game and celebrated by posing with the corner flag, something Henry used to do regularly in his career.
Asked about it after the game, Yamal said: “I like it, I like it a lot. In the end Henry is a reference, he has that legendary celebration and I wanted to do it.”
Lamine has been having fun out on the pitch during
the international break with Spain. He scored in the first two minutes against England at the weekend and was as it again versus Croatia.
The teenager also made history with his performance, becoming the youngest player ever to score twice and grab an assist in the same game for La Roja.
Spain play Croatia again next week in the competition but take on Czechia before that on Saturday night.
