The Indianapolis Colts started the NFL season at home gaining wins against the Dolphins and Broncos. Not only is it their first road game, it also marks the first divisional opponent in the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are a team the Colts know well, but with a new rookie quarterback in first overall pick Cam Ward, they will certainly have a different look. FanDuel Sportsbook sees the Colts with the current advantage with a -3.5 point spread.
The opening money line sits at -166 with the over/under
coming in at 42.5.
The Colts and Broncos had a seesaw affair with both teams trading punches. The Colts continued their hot streak by scoring on their first three possessions. Two field goals and a touchdown to start didn’t hold up as the defense struggled to corral Bo Nix and the Denver offense. Denver held the lead late but couldn’t capitalize as a Lutz field goal bounced off the upright and gave the Colts life. If that wasn’t a big enough gift, a last second penalty gave Spencer Shrader another shot to play hero, and he didn’t disappoint, sending the Colts to their second victory.
The Titans played their first home game taking on the Los Angeles Rams. Ward has looked like a rookie during his first two starts. He has been able to move the offense at times but has struggled to put the ball in the endzone. He did get his first career touchdown against the Rams, and his team even held the lead at halftime. Just like against the Broncos, however, the Titans held tough for three quarters until they faded in the fourth. That is a sign of a lesser ability team, but one that is still going to fight every game. They will look to put up their first win in 2025 against their division rival.
The 2-0 Colts look to keep things rolling against a Titans team that is struggling to find their footing to start the year. Cam Ward may get things going in Nashville soon, but the Colts will do their part to try and delay it at least one more week. The first road test of the season awaits. It is a winnable one, and securing a victory against the Titans would be a great start to a two game road trip. The perfect chance to continue the red hot start awaits.
