There really was no hope for Jeremiyah Love to win the Heisman Trophy after Wilfredo Aybar did the most Stanford thing ever and dropped a cheapshot knee into the ribs of Love — who was just tring to get
up off of the ground after the play was over. Going into that game, Love had surged to having the second best odds to win, and afterward he plummeted to third in the race with +40000 odds.
On Saturday night in New York City, it was Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza that had his name called as the 2025 Heisman Trophy winner. Jeremiyah Love finished a distant third with Vanderbilt quarterback, Diego Pavia, in second place. Love did, however, have more first place votes than the other seven combined… for whatever that’s worth.

Despite pretty much knowing these would be the results of the voting, the ceremony put a final stamp on the disappointment of the end of the 2025 Notre Dame football season. Sure — there are still some college football playoff results that would be better for Notre Dame than others, but mostly, it’s all over.
Please, continue to drink heavily.
