GAME NOTES
- TCU heads to Provo on Saturday where they will take on No. 12 BYU, their first matchup against a ranked team since closing out the 2023 season at No. 13 Oklahoma. The Frogs are on a three-game winless stretch against ranked opponents dating back to the meeting with No. 1 Georgia in the CFP National Championship game at the end of the 2022 season.
- TCU’s last win over a ranked opponent in a true road game was also in that 2022 season when they went to Austin and beat No. 18 Texas, 17-10.
- It will be TCU’s first trip to LaVell Edwards Stadium since 2009 when both squads were members of the Mountain West Conference. TCU has won the last five meetings, but prior to a 2023 match up, those previous four games came between 2008-11.
BYU NOTES
- THE SERIES. BYU is 5-7 overall against TCU, with a 4-5 mark in conference games (WAC, MW, Big 12). The Horned Frogs won the most recent matchup with a 44-11 victory in Fort Worth in 2023. The Horned Frogs last visited Provo in 2009 when the two schools were both members of the Mountain West Conference and won 38-7. That TCU team went on to finish the regular season 12-0 before losing in the Fiesta Bowl and finished the year No. 6 overall in the AP Top 25.
- HALL OF FAME. BYU will induct its 2025 Hall of Fame class this weekend. The class includes Alexa Gray (women’s volleyball), Tyler Haws (men’s basketball), Nachelle Stewart Mackie (women’s track), Trevor Matich (football), Jack Morris (baseball), Mark Philbrick (BYU photographer) and Roger Reid (men’s basketball coach). The seven inductees will also be honored during a special presentation at halftime of the BYU-TCU football game on Saturday, Nov. 15.
