Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nübel is in a very strange position at the moment. After 4 consecutive years on loan at AS Monaco and then VfB Stuttgart, waiting for Manuel Neuer to decline and hand him the starting role in goal, a new successor for Neuer has been found in Jonas Urbig. This has left Nübel unneeded in Munich and therefore on the sale list.
However, Nübel has had a very, very good 2025/26 good season for Stuttgart and is in his prime. Surely, there will be a lot of interest in the 29-year-old
goalkeeper. Sure enough, Sport Bild reports (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) that two big clubs in Europe are interested in Nübel:
Juventus and Manchester City are showing interest in Alexander Nübel and have made initial contact with the management of the goalkeeper. Bayern are demanding €10-15m.
It would be strange to see Manchester City pursue Nübel after splashing out for two goalkeepers- Gianluigi Donnarumma and James Trafford- last summer. Interest from Juventus would make more sense, however, given that their top goalkeeper Michel De Gregorio has come under certain scrutiny in recent months, most notably being benched for the return leg in the Champions League knockout playoffs against Galatasaray after conceding five goals in the first leg.
