It’s now day 2 of Utah Jazz training camp, and so far the reports about Darryn Peterson are sparkling.
It’s some big praise from Jusuf Nurkic, who is giving us a glimpse into what looks like a special prospect. It’s interesting he mentions they are having to tell Peterson to go home, which
signals a maturity in his work ethic and drive. That makes me wonder what he means by maturity. Is it maturity in terms of age/how he acts? Or could it mean a maturity to his game? It looks like it might mean both because we also saw that same hype on Utah Jazz Media Day. For example, here’s what Mo Bamba said about him.
Here’s what Keyonte George said. And this certainly seems like it could describe maturity to his game.
But we’re also seeing maturity in terms of character as well. Like this from Ainge on Media Day.
And this from Sensabaugh on Media Day.
It’s enough to get very hyped on Peterson and what he can become. He still has to prove it when the season starts, but there’s plenty of evidence to think this season will be a great one for Darryn Peterson.
