It’s hard to tell exactly how happy one should feel about this recent stretch of Yankees baseball. For the most part, things have been pretty great; Aaron Judge is back, the Yankees’ top four starting pitchers are at last all healhty at once, and most importantly, the club has been playing good ball, a 24-15 record to their name since August. Yet their efforts have been halfway for naught, as even though they will clinch a playoff spot any day now, their odds of catching the Rays in the AL East are slim.
A very talented team is playing very well, but the simple reality of playoff seeding casts a shadow over the proceedings.
Things roll on today with a date in Minnesota, and Matt will preview the series with the Twins this morning, before Kevin recaps Sunday’s AL action.
