Colbie Young was drafted in the fourth round to a team with arguably the best wide receiver tandem in the league.
And yet, somehow, he’s already earned the trust of his QB, Joe Burrow.
When asked about that by Jeremy Rauch, Young said that Burrow’s trust in him so early is “everything to me.”
Throughout camp, Young has made acrobatic grabs, using his 6-foot-3 frame to high-point catches.
But he’s also put in the work and become a student of the game. The rookie receiver said that, once he got the playbook down, “the plays just started coming after that.”
His goal for the preseason opener is to prove that he belongs, that he can compete at a high level, and that he can be a good teammate.
Young is confident that his size and height will expand the offense. “Those 50-50 balls that might be contested balls to other people really is pretty easy for me,” he said.
