Bayern Munich continued their winning streak, facing table-second Eintracht Frankfurt away. Frankfurt too were in red-hot form, but Bayern have simply been unstoppable. A brilliant attacking effort from
Bayern saw them leave with a 3-0 win.
Harry Kane seems to be on the cusp of what might be his best season yet at Bayern, and he continued to put up a world-class performance against Frankfurt as well. The English striker, after being denied a few times, finally managed to score just before the 30th minute. Assisted by Luis Díaz, he finished with a perfect strike to the bottom corner.
However perfect the game was going, disaster struck at the 81st minute — Kane collided with opposition goalkeeper Kauã Santos, and had to be substituted for Nicolas Jackson. Following the game, he spoke to Sky Sports (per @iMiaSanMia) and assured that he was okay. “It was a contact to the bone. I had it a few weeks ago, and it was in the same spot today,”he explained. “A few days and it’ll be fine,” he said in reassurance.
He further confirmed that he would still travel to London to play during the International Break —“yes, I’ll be there Monday,” the skipper confirmed.
So, it is all okay. The injury gods are not going to extort more out of Bayern than they already have.
