The New Orleans Saints had some big signings on the first day of free agency, but one of the more under-the-radar ones was in the TE room. Last offseason, the Saints re-signed Juwan Johnson to a big contract, but many fans wanted more done. One of the available names was former Seattle Seahawks TE Noah Fant, but he ended up going to the Cincinnati Bengals. After a decent season in 2025, he hit the market again, and the Saints signed Fant to a 2-year, $8.75M contract.
Like Johnson, Fant is an athletic pass-catching TE who is a very good redzone threat. Good news for the Saints, Fant is a better blocker, which will get him on the field more. His contract seems cheap, and with this signing, TE may be off the list of needs. Still, grabbing one late in the draft wouldn’t hurt.
