Since the end of the 2026 World Cup, a lot of discourse around the domestic soccer leagues has taken flight. We discuss some of the main points on Episode 196.
Major League Soccer, promotion-relegation, and pay-to-play are buzz words that have taken center stage as we move past the World Cup to try and keep fans interested in soccer to grow support for the game. And like it or not, the domestic leagues are part of that conversation. More importantly, they’re a part of the solution as well. We discuss
some of the major points of how supporting local soccer can help gain more soccer fans in this country as we seek to improve our system in a way that works for us. It’s not the full conversation, but a start to the discourse. The nuances of our American soccer system need to be considered, but above all community building needs to be what is centered.
