Maliq Brown has been one of the best-loved players in Duke Basketball history. Why is that?

Partly it’s because he’s just such a smart player. As the Duke Chronicle notes in its latest profile, Brown doesn’t have a huge statistical profile. But as Caleb Foster notes here, “[I]t’s almost like a different game [Maliq] plays. I’ve never played with somebody with such an impact on the team.”

the essence of Brown’s game. He sees things that others don’t. He’s not the most talented player on the team. He may or may not get serious NBA interest.
