As you may have heard, former Blue Devil Cam Reddish is leaving the NBA to play in Europe. A free agent, Reddish apparently didn’t get enough interest to stick around. The NBA is insanely competitive and it’s hard to get there and harder still to stay there.
Reddish had some challenges at Duke, but he had some brilliant moments as well, and none were more brilliant than what he did at #13 Florida State in 2019.
With Duke down 78-77 with 2.8 left to play, Tre Jones was inbounding on the baseline. Zion
Williamson, who would have normally been the first option, was out after getting poked in the eye. Reddish was on the left side of the court and moved to the right and while everything else collapsed towards the basket, Reddish sprinted to the right side of the three point line. Jones hit him with a perfect pass and Reddish launched a wide open three, which he swished. It was one of the better clutch plays in Duke history, and it was on the road, too.
Euroleagues are a step below the NBA, but still pretty good. We’d say Reddish has a shot at being great there.
