According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is currently not expected to be particularly active in the January transfer window, despite the recent wave of injuries that has put considerable pressure on Vincent Kompany’s squad.
As things stand, the clear tendency within the club is to avoid making winter additions. Bayern’s management expects virtually the entire squad to be available when the second half of the season resumes on January 8, with Ismael Saibari currently
the only exception.
That expectation has seemingly reduced the urgency to enter the transfer market, particularly given the difficulties associated with finding the right players at reasonable prices during the winter window. Bayern would rather avoid making an expensive short-term decision simply to address temporary squad shortages.
There is also a longer-term financial consideration behind the club’s thinking. Bayern are planning to make at least one more expensive attacking signing in the summer of 2027, and the management wants to preserve sufficient funds to make that investment possible.
In other words, Bayern are prepared to trust their existing squad to get through the current injury crisis rather than panic-buy in January.
Of course, much can change between now and the winter window. Further injuries, unexpected departures, or opportunities that are simply too good to ignore could alter the club’s position.
Still, the current message from Säbener Straße appears clear: Bayern Munich would prefer patience over panic, keep their financial powder dry, and save their major investment for the summer of 2027.
