Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are two of the most frightening attacking teams in the world, but PSG boss Luis Enrique thinks defense could actually end up determining the game.
In addition, the manager also thinks his squad is the best in the world at the moment.
“While both teams attack very well, you have to know how to defend well. That will be key. You have to attack and defend well. It’s an attractive game for everyone and for the teams, who are having a very good season,” Luis Enrique
on tomorrow’s game (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “It’s not just the attacking stats, defensively too. Arsenal have also done a great job. In terms of consistency, Bayern are slightly ahead of us; they’ve only lost two matches. But based on what we’re showing as a team, there’s no one better than us.”
Enrique was — oddly — asked about who he thought was the “heart” of Bayern Munich’s squad. Not surprisingly, the PSG boss could not point to any specific player.
“(Joshua) Kimmich, (Luis) Díaz, (Harry) Kane, (Konrad) Laimer, (Michael) Olise, (Josip) Stanišić…everyone. If you approach these matches individually, you’re making a mistake. They have incredible players, but the team is the key. Both teams are clear examples of that,” said Enrique.
While quick to credit Bayern Munich, Enrique also made sure to let his team knew he thought it was the superior group.
