How Nurmagomedov Wins
Nurmagomedov is an elite wrestler, possessing both an exceptionally fast shot and excellent takedown chaining. Once on top, Nurmagomedov isn’t always the best at doing damage, but he advances position well and is a strong back-taker. Lastly, Nurmagomedov can hold his own on the feet, particularly with his slick kicks.
Aside from scoring the takedown (obviously), the objective of this fight for Nurmagomedov is to avoid the pocket. He doesn’t want to trade punches with Yadong, who is murderously fast and powerful when opponents stand in front of him. Nurmagomedov will want to get on his bike early and kick often, baiting Yadong to swing at air and open up reactive double leg shots.
