Josh Allen is a superstar in any weather. And starting right around November, at home, he plays in plenty of windy, snowy games in Orchard Park.
For as much as Allen has embraced the elements as Buffalo’s starting quarterback and played a myriad of outstanding games when the weather has been far from ideal, the best Josh Allen is Dome Josh Allen.
Here are Allen’s career stats in his nine games when playing in a dome:
Completion rate: 68.8%
Yards per attempt: 8.81
TD & INT: 19 & 6
Passer rating: 110.1
Rushing
yards & rushing TDs per game: 43 & 1.33
To put that 110.1 rating into perspective, to date, Allen’s best season-long rate came in 2020, and it was 107.4. It was 101.4 when he won MVP in 2024 and 102.2 a season ago.
And of course, SoFi Stadium is a dome, where the Bills will take on the Rams on Monday Night Football in Week 5.
We all remember Allen’s outrageous performance against the Rams back in 2024, when he went 22-of-37 for 342 yards with three passing touchdowns, no interceptions, and toted the rock 10 times for 82 yards and three more scores.
Pro Football Reference makes a distinction between dome and retractable roof stadium, the latter of which would include Houston’s Reliant Stadium. Allen did some rough outings in that building but did go bonkers on the Texans defense inside in Week 1.
Yet in a classic dome, Allen has been spectacular both as a passer and a runner.
