As it stands, I don’t think we know who the backup quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams will be going into the 2026 season. That person may not even be on the roster yet, or they could be. We really don’t know, and that makes the situation worth monitoring.
It’s possible that Ty Simpson and Stetson Bennett will battle for the QB2 job, and that should be fun to watch. As long as Matthew Stafford stays upright then the back position is simply a fun story, but as soon as the backup will be needed it will become
serious.
It’s a situation seemingly in flux as the backup QB spot may be one of the bigger holes on L.A.‘s roster. We’ll see. Maybe it’s all good.

What OTAs Revealed About the Rams Quarterback Depth Chart (si.com)
“When talking about Simpson, McVay said, “Ty, like the rest of the rookies, is doing a really nice job. Overall, I’ve been really pleased but it’s how we come together as a team.” Offensive Coordinator Nate Scheelhaase had the same tone. Said Scheelhaase, “I’ve been encouraged with all of our rookies, including Ty. He’s coming with the right mentality, and honestly, the rest of those rookies have as well, which has been cool.”
Matthew Stafford sells 3 LA homes for $21M, including 2 he bought from Drake (ramswire)
“According to Realtor.com, the Staffords sold three of their houses in Los Angeles for a total of $21 million. Stafford purchased two of the homes from Drake’s YOLO estate in 2022 for $11 million, which they’ve reportedly been trying to sell for the last two years.
The third home was purchased by Stafford for $10.5 million in 2022, as well.“
49ers’ potential Aaron Donald ‘solution’ unlikely to faze Rams’ new defense (ramblinfan)
“It’s been an eventful offseason for the Los Angeles Rams, to say the least. After acquiring Myles Garrett from the Browns, there’s been buzz that franchise legend Aaron Donald might unretire to join his old team and wreak havoc on opposing offenses once again.
The rumor surely struck no small twinge of fear into the Rams’ division foes, who would not only have to slow down Garrett, the two-time Defensive Player of the Year, but Donald, a three-time award winner, as well. Even with Donald being 35 years old, that would be no easy task whatsoever.“
