Heading into Champions League Matchday 3, my team still doesn’t look great. The first two matchdays were just okay, and it was Kylian Mbappe’s hat-trick that really saved me.
He’s been in top form since
the start of the competition, which is why he’s had my captain’s armband every week.
But this time, I’m switching things up as Marcus Rashford will take the armband for Matchday 3 since Mbappe and Harry Kane don’t play on the first day of the matchday.
This is my second season playing UCL Fantasy, and I’m gradually understanding how the game works. I’m still not as confident as I am with FPL, but I’ve improved since last season, which didn’t go too well.
In FPL, I usually sort my team early and meet the deadline, but with UCL Fantasy, it hasn’t been that easy. I’ve missed a few deadlines just because I forgot to make changes, and that’s something I’m trying to do better at this season.
Here’s how my team is set for this gameweek. I’ve made a few changes after the first two matchdays, hoping things go a bit better this time. You can share what you think, maybe what to expect or what changes could help before the deadline.

UCL MD3 Team Preview
With my two free transfers, I decided to replace Viktor Gyokeres with Harry Kane. Gy0keres hasn’t been returning points since the start of the season, and that has really affected my team’s performance.
On the other hand, Bayern Munich’s main man, Harry Kane, has been one of the best UCL Fantasy assets so far, especially for managers who owned him from the start.
He’s picked up 15 points in Matchday 1 and 13 points in Matchday 2, and I’m hoping he keeps delivering for managers like me who are bringing him in for Matchday 3.
I also replaced Serhou Guirassy, who is a doubt, with Marcus Rashford. Borussia Dortmund face Copenhagen, while Barcelona welcome Olympiacos, who lost 2–0 to Arsenal in Matchday 2.
Rashford will take the captain’s armband, forming an interesting front three for matchday 3.
My midfield looks strong with players I’m confident in. Kevin De Bruyne already has two assists this season, and with him, I have another Bayern player who’s been in good form with three assists and a goal – Michael Olise.
Gordon, selected by just 4% of managers, has also done well with three goals and a clean sheet, while Vintha has managed one clean sheet and 15 balls recovered, rounding up my midfield picks.
My backline also looks solid, with all three defenders capable of bringing in points and possibly keeping a clean sheet.
Raya is another player I’m counting on, with two clean sheets and five saves so far, and he’ll be up against Atleti next.
That’s how my squad’s shaping up for Matchday 3. What do you think — any glaring misses or genius calls? Share your thoughts and teams below!
