Not all injury-related news has to be bad news, as tough as that may be to believe for Green Bay Packers fans this year. On Thursday, the Packers actually got four players back who were either injured in the team’s last game against the Carolina Panthers or missed the game entirely.
According to Packers.com’s Weston Hodkiewicz, receiver Matthew Golden (shoulder), receiver Dontayvion Wicks (calf), left guard Aaron Banks (stinger) and defensive tackle Colby Wooden (shoulder) were all participants in Green
Bay’s padded practice today, even if only as limited participants. This left only receiver Savion Williams (unknown), defensive end Lukas Van Ness (foot) and cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee) as the non-participants on Thursday.
The receiver position is going to be very interesting for the Packers this week. Here’s sort of how their depth chart breaks down:
- Romeo Doubs
- Christian Watson (on a pitch count coming off his ACL tear)
- Jayden Reed (on the injured reserve)
- Matthew Golden (recovering from a shoulder injury)
- Dontayvion Wicks (recovering from a calf injury)
- Malik Heath
- Savion Williams (presumably has an injury)
Keep an eye out for the injury report this week at receiver. Green Bay went out of its way to add a fourth receiver to its 17-man roster on Tuesday, so it seems like they’re expecting to be down bodies, be it in practice or against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.
