And then there was one. Three of the four wild-card games proved to be pretty dull, with the Red Sox, Cubs and Astros rolling over with the lightest of struggles. So that just leaves the Phillies and Braves. Game #1 saw Atlanta come back from behind to take victory, while the roles were reversed in Game #2. So that sets the stage for a “winner takes all” Game #3 tonight in Atlanta. Enjoy it, because it’s the only baseball you are going to get today or tomorrow, before the Division Series get under
way on Saturday. That’ll be another four-game slate, and might be the last such of the post-season, if one or other NLDS is a sweep. Because we then go into staggered games, the ALDS getting a day-off on Sunday.
- Philadelphia Phillies @ Atlanta Braves (1-1): 5:00 pm, NBC/Peacock
Starter question: it’s likely to trivial to bother with a poll, but who do you want to win this one?
