Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is one of five finalists for the highest honor that the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) has for a player, the Alan Page Community Award.
According to the NFLPA, “The award annually recognizes one union member who goes above and beyond to perform community service in his team city and/or hometown. As an award for the players and by the players, the winner will be determined through a league-wide digital vote by their NFL peers.”
Williams
was the Week 11 NFLPA Community MVP after hosting 40 members of his youth football team, Caleb Williams Elite from Bowie, Maryland, to Chicago through his Caleb Cares Foundation. He brought the team in for the weekend to watch the Bears beat the New York Giants at Soldier Field. On Saturday, they went to an AI workshop in partnership with Microsoft, the Best Buy Foundation, and the Gary Comer Teen Tech Center. After the game, the student-athletes met with top Bears executives, including Chairman George McCaskey, President and CEO Kevin Warren, and General Manager Ryan Poles, to hear their stories and to receive advice and encouragement. They also spent time with Williams to discuss leadership, belief, and pursuing their passions.
Besides hosting his youth football team that weekend, Williams and his Caleb Cares Foundation host 50 local students at every Bears home game, which is something he began in his rookie year. As a rookie in 2024, Caleb was named the Week 14 NFLPA Community MVP.
Williams and the other finalists, Garett Bolles (Denver), Dion Dawkins (Buffalo), Nakobe Dean (Philadelphia), and Derrick Henry (Baltimore), will receive a $10,000 donation from the NFLPA toward their foundation or charity of choice.
The winner will be announced at 12:30 p.m. CT on February 3 at the NFLPA’s annual Super Bowl press conference in San Francisco. The Alan Page Community (APC) Award winner will receive an additional $100,000 donation, courtesy of the NFLPA, to his foundation or a charity of choice.
