In the midst of a somewhat struggling season, the Missouri Tigers have lost two out of their last three games and are now 6-3 (2-3 SEC). That means Mizzou is officially out of the 12-team College Football Playoff mix.
Yes, that is a disappointment — especially after a promising 5-0 start coming off back-to-back 10-win seasons. Though, according to national expectations — this year shouldn’t have been too much of a surprise as the over/under win total was set at 7.5.
With their CFP goals out of reach, Mizzou still has something to play for as they look for the best bowl destination possible in the final three games of the regular season. Look, everyone wants to be in the 12-team playoff — but bowl games can still be fun. Sure, they might not carry a TON of weight anymore — but it’s always nice to end the year on a high note.
Mizzou has won back-to-back bowl games against Big Ten teams. The Tigers will be looking for their third straight bowl win in three straight seasons. That has never been done before at Missouri.
In our latest SBN Reacts survey, we ask what bowl game would Mizzou fans want this postseason? The program is certainly familiar with recent trips to Tennessee in the Liberty and Music City Bowl. Maybe the Tiger faithful would welcome a trip to Florida around New Year’s to the Gator or ReliaQuest Bowl.
Let us know in the comments as the Duke’s Mayo and Texas Bowl are other options as well.
