During the 2025/26 season, Bayern Munich shattered the longstanding Bundesliga with 122 goals (3.59 per game). This year’s emphasis will be on player health, longevity, and rotation throughout the season to maximize results later in the campaign. That did not prevent Bayern from dropping four second half goals on Stuttgart in the season opener.
After the match, Vincent Kompany was brimming with confidence while talking about the status of the roster (via @iMiaSanMia).
“We just want to continue what
we’ve been doing in the past couple of years,” said Kompany. “We’ve shown a lot of energy, a lot of willingness. It’s just fun with this team. Everything starts again from zero. I hope all players are aware of that, but it’s also my role to instill it into them. We have a good squad, with a perfect balance of experience and youth. The new signings will help us a lot. We just need to arrive to the decisive phase of the season with all our players fit. We managed that quite well last season.”
Bayern’s squad is arguably deeper than anything the club has seen since the sextuple. Kompany’s job is to captain the ship and keep everyone engaged and playing at a high level.
