Real Madrid’s new signing Bernardo Silva did not feature in Portugal’s 0-0 draw against Colombia in their final group stage game of the World Cup.
Ruben Neves and Vitinha started in midfield, while Pedro Neto took the place occupied by Silva in the first game.
It was one of the most entertaining goalless draws in recent history, where both teams looked to be close to scoring on essentially every attack.
Colombia had a goal disallowed late into the second half by a matter of inches, and there were some
big Portugal chances that went just wide as well.
It was a very entertaining game, although not as much for the players themselves – especially Silva, who would have wanted to return to the starting XI.
As a result, Portugal have now finished the group stage with five points. They are two points behind Colombia at second place in their group, meaning they would face Croatia in the next round.
