Former Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has been full of praise for Luis Enrique and revealed why the coach is the best manager he’s played under during his career.
Lucho is currently celebrating winning the Champions League again with PSG, and Alba says the boss creates a great atmosphere within the squad.
“For me, Luis Enrique is the best. He gets all the players to pull together, even those who don’t play. You feel happy for your teammates, for the team. Not everyone can do that. In that sense, he’s
a star,” he told Mario Suarez on his podcast El Camino de Mario.
“He’s spectacular at managing a group. He’s approachable and demands the best from you. If you don’t do what he says, someone else takes your place. He doesn’t care about names, what you’ve done in football… he sees the present.”
Alba also spoke about working under Xavi Hernandez and feels he did a good job during his two and a half seasons in charge.
“Xavi Hernández came in at a very difficult time,” he added.
“He took on the responsibility and did quite well. We won La Liga and the Super Cup against Real Madrid. When I was there, he managed the group well.”
