The Golden State Warriors tip off their second game of the preseason with Wednesday night’s matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. The game will be played at 7:00 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on NBA TV and NBC Sports Bay Area.
Previously with the Warriors:
Golden State opened preseason play with an impressive 111–103 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. The entire team looked sharp, Stephen Curry was in midseason form scoring 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, and Moses Moody led the team with 19 points and a plus-minus
of plus-21 in just 15 minutes.
What to watch for tonight:
After limiting the starters to roughly 15 minutes in the opener, head coach Steve Kerr plans to extend their minutes for tonight’s game against the Blazers.
Jonathan Kuminga will continue to be a player to watch. He had several nice plays against the Lakers, but Kerr remains hesitant about a lineup that features Kuminga, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green together due to the lack of spacing.
Veteran big man Al Horford could help solve that problem. Horford’s debut showed exactly why Golden State brought him in — his ability to stretch the floor, facilitate from the top of the key, and defend multiple positions gives the Warriors a versatile option who can balance lineups built around their core stars.
