Barcelona have confirmed that Patricio Pacifico has joined the Catalan giants on loan for the rest of the season from Uruguayan club Defensor Sporting.
Pacifico becomes the latest signing for Barca Atletic in what’s been a busy window for Juliano Belletti’s team.
The transfer includes a purchase option for the youngster which is believed to be around €1.8m plus add-ons and could even become mandatory if certain conditions are met this season.
Here’s the club’s official statement:
“FC Barcelona and Defensor
Sporting Club have reached an agreement for the loan of Patricio Pacifico until the end of this season.
“The agreement includes an option to buy at the end of the season for the Catalan club. The Uruguayan defender will join Barça Atlètic for the second half of the season.”
The 19-year-old is widely regarded as one of Uruguay’s most exciting defenders and follows Hamza Abdelkarim and Juwensley Onstein in completing moves to Barca Atletic this winter.
