Rutgers defensive end Djibril Abdou Rahman has announced his intentions to transfer. Rahman joined the team as a part of the 2023 class and will leave the Scarlet Knights with two years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-4, 257-pound Abdou Rahman saw action in three games his freshman year before he redshirted the rest of the season. After not recording a stat in 2023, he appeared in 11 games in 2024, recording four total tackles over that span. His playing time per game increased in 2025, when
he played in 10 games and recorded 6 total tackles, 1 sack, and 1 pass defended. He also earned academic all-Big Ten status twice while with the Knights.
Abdou Rahman, who hails from Montreal, Canada, was one of the players who came to Rutgers via their Canada pipeline. Other canadian born Knights who were on the team last season include safety Jett Elad, running back Antwan Raymond, and linebacker Dariel Djabome.
With his departure, the departure of Jordan Walker for Georgia Tech, and the graduations of Eric O’Neill and Bradley Weaver, Rutgers desperately needs to land several defensive ends in the transfer portal. The Knights have already landed Toledo EDGE Malachi Davis, but they will likely be looking to grab a few more before the portal closes.
