Kendal Grey lost her NXT women’s championship to Kelani Jordan at Heatwave, just 62 days into her run. The bright young star, still just 25-years-old, then went to therapy to figure herself out. In the meantime, her partner in crime, Wren Sinclair, did what she had to do in order to win a battle royal to become the number one contender to the women’s championship.
It presented an interesting scenario whereby perhaps Sinclair could emerge victorious and create some tension within WrenQCC.
Nope!
She gave
it the ol’ college try, and it looked close a time or two. But in the end, Jordan survived an extended submission to get herself in the right position to cheat to win.
That may end up being a saving grace of sorts for Sinclair, who has a legitimate beef to continue the program, regardless of where Grey will come out on all of this. Jordan has been flirting with the main roster in recent weeks, and certainly appears ready.
For now, she remains champion of the women’s division down here in NXT.
That may not be the case for long, considering General Manager Robert Stone announced she would be defending the title on next week’s episode of NXT television.
