TCU volleyball’s recent struggles continued on Saturday afternoon, when the No. 16 ranked Horned Frogs dropped a four-set match at No. 25 Iowa State and conceded their sixth loss in eight Big 12 Conference
matches. The Horned Frogs avoided the sweep by taking the third set, but a fourth-set defeat sealed a 19-25, 22-25, 25-20, 19-25 defeat against the Cyclones. Despite a dominant performance from outside hitter Evan Hendrix, who had 23 kills on a .298 hitting rate, the Horned Frogs hit just .182 and committed seven service errors in the loss. TCU (18-9, 8-7 Big 12) will attempt to salvage the back end of the Big 12 slate against Texas Tech on Nov. 22.
Ella Foti turned in a massive double-double for the Horned Frogs, dishing out 21 assists while leading the TCU defense with 20 digs. Libero Alice Volpe added 16 digs and Hendrix recorded 12 digs to earn a double-double for the TCU side, which had six receiving errors in the loss. Middie blockers Sarah Sylvester and Alexis Roberson combined for eight kills and four blocks for the Horned Frogs, who limited Iowa State to a .209 hitting rate.
