Rutgers reserve offensive lineman Zach Aaland has announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal. He made an appearance in one game during his lone season with the Scarlet Knights, seeing action in the team’s 60-10 win over Norfolk State. He leaves Rutgers with two years of eligibility remaining.
Aaland, a native of South Brunswick, New Jersey, started his career playing two seasons at Illinois, one of which he redshirted, before he decided to transfer to Rutgers, where he stayed for one season.
He will now look for his third team in three years.
The 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive lineman was a highly sought-after recruit from the class of 2023. He was rated a three-star by the Rivals Industry Ranking and was ranked as the No.23 prospect in the state of New Jersey. He was also rated as the No. 124 interior offensive line prospect for his class.
He joins John Stone as the only two offensive linemen for Rutgers to announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal.
The transfer portal is officially set to open tomorrow, January 2nd, and will remain open until the 16th.
