At our consensus power rankings here at Daily Norseman, the Minnesota Vikings check in at 17.5 among the 32 NFL squads.
One of our panelists has the Vikings ranked as high as 10th in the NFL, while another has them as low as 21st.
While I have you here, I have a thought-provoking — at least, in my opinion — question….
Where do you think the Vikings will land in the power rankings — let’s just say the consensus — if they beat the Philadelphia Eagles at home this weekend?
For the sense of comparison, here’s
where the Eagles rank on all of the places we use for our power rankings consensus as compared to the Vikings:
- NFL.com: Vikings 19th | Eagles 6th
- The Athletic/New York Times: Vikings 17th | Eagles 8th
- ESPN.com: Vikings 18th | Eagles 5th
- Pro Football Focus: Vikings 15th | Eagles 6th
- Pro Football Talk: Vikings 18th | Eagles 8th
- CBS Sports/Pete Prisco: Vikings 16th | Eagles 1st
- The Score: Vikings 19th | Eagles 9th
- Sports Illustrated: Vikings 19th | Eagles 7th
- USA Today (Nate Davis): Vikings 21st | Eagles 8th
- Yahoo! Sports: Vikings 10th | Eagles 3rd
- New York Post: Vikings 20th | Eagles 6th
That comes out to 67 ratings points for the Eagles, for a consensus power ranking of just over 6.0.
For the sake of this exercise, let’s assume a Kevin O’Connell-style win. Something along the lines of….24-20.
Where do you think that would land the Vikings in next Tuesday’s consensus rankings?
