It looks like Landon Dickerson is returning to the starting lineup for the Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 7 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The three-time Pro Bowl guard shared a picture of himself running out of the Lincoln Financial Field tunnel with the caption “Let’s go! 🦅” to his verified Instagram page on Sunday night:
This developments tracks with what we’ve seen over the past week. Dickerson was taking first-team left guard reps during media-attended portions of practice last week. After previously
being limited in practice, he was upgraded to full participation prior to being ruled questionable to play on Saturday’s final injury report.
Dickerson is set to suit up for the first time since Week 1, when he mightily struggled against the Washington Commanders. Dickerson admitted he was a “complete liability” in that game. We’ll soon see if the time off actually helped him get healthier of if he’ll continue to struggle.
If he’s actually healthy, Dickerson’s return could provide the Eagles’ running game with a much-needed boost. He’ll be an upgrade on Willie Lampkin, who has provided admirable effort but isn’t an ideal starting guard. But, again, it remains to be seen if Dickerson will actually play well.
The Eagles have until 4:00 PM Eastern on Monday to officially activate Dickerson from injured reserve. They currently have three open roster spots.
Speaking of, it sounds like the Eagles could look to activate rookie tight end Eli Stowers from injured reserve. Expectations for him should be kept in check considering his offseason struggles.
