Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur stated on Monday that the team has not received any updates regarding running back Josh Jacobs’ status. Jacobs pleaded no contest to charges of battery and criminal damage to property, stemming from an incident that involved his then-girlfriend. At the moment, the NFL has Jacobs on the commissioner exempt list, with no timetable for his return, as the league investigates the incident and attempts to receive evidence from the case — including video from Jacobs’ garage.
That video is currently being discussed as potentially being permanently sealed, a decision that will ultimately come down to the Hobart-Lawrence police department.
Beyond the Jacobs of it all, LaFleur also noted that edge defender Micah Parsons will not practice this week, as he has not been cleared by the medical staff. Apparently, the issue right now is making sure that Parsons’ legs are equally as strong as each other, to avoid a future injury.
LaFleur also stated on Monday that he believes that defensive lineman Jordon Riley, who tore his Achilles last season, is “pretty close” to returning to the team and that defensive lineman Anthony Campbell will “get rolling this week.” The defensive line depth is becoming an increasing concern for Green Bay — not because of the unit’s performance so far this year, but because the team has had two players poached at the position and has had two major injuries to Warren Brinson and Javon Hargrave. Brinson is currently on the injured reserve, while Hargrave tore his Achilles and is expected to miss the rest of the 2026 season.
Riley is currently on the physically unable to perform list, while Campbell missed last week’s action due to injury. Right now, there are only four healthy players at the position on the Packers’ 53-man roster, and the team usually goes into games with five players (or more) on the interior defensive line.
