Head coach Mike Vrabel’s roster traveled to Nashville with insurance in both backfields.
The New England Patriots elevated running back Terrell Jennings and defensive back Miles Battle from the practice squad on the eve of Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
Jennings, 24, recently reverted after serving as an elevation for what became a 25-19 win over the New Orleans Saints. He now returns to an active depth chart led by starter Rhamondre Stevenson and rookie TreVeyon Henderson in the absence
of veteran Antonio Gibson. The Florida A&M product’s 2025 debut brought seven snaps on special teams during kickoff and punt returns at the Caesars Superdome.
Arriving in Foxborough as an undrafted tryout at rookie minicamp in 2024, Jennings led the team in rushing during his first NFL preseason. The 6-foot, 217-pound back went from the practice squad to the 53-man roster by year’s end, turning 13 carries into 33 yards, and was again retained after clearing waivers in August.
Battle, 25, also re-signed to New England’s practice squad at its formation following a preseason that included 88 defensive snaps. The 6-foot-3, 197-pound cornerback began his stay on the scout team last fall and was promoted to the active roster leading up to the January finale. His Week 18 NFL debut included three passes defensed and two tackles.
A former transfer from Ole Miss to Utah, Battle originally entered the league as part of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2024 undrafted class.
Three standard call-ups from the practice squad are permitted under NFL rules before requiring a move to the 53-man roster to take the field.
The final injury report of the week saw wide receiver Stefon Diggs, outside linebacker Harold Landry III, cornerback Charles Woods and safety Jaylinn Hawkins listed as questionable for Sunday.
Kickoff at Nissan Stadium is set for 1 p.m. ET.
