With its 4-0 victory over Union Berlin, Bayern Munich is closing in on breaking the Bundesliga record for goals in a season.
As it stands, the Bavarians are just four goals away from tying the record and five from setting a new milestone:
Afterward, Bayern Munich head Vincent Kompany was asked about the record, but did not want to dive into those details
— as you would expect.
“I’m not someone that wants to speak about such records. It doesn’t interest me a lot. I think we’ll break this record, but I have other priorities, to never forget what our strengths are and bring them to the pitch regardless of the opponent,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
It seems inevitable that Bayern Munich will establish a new record and the only question is really how high the new total will be. The Bavarians seem poised to shatter the record and create a mountainous new standard.
