Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly try and lure Julian Alvarez away from Atletico in the summer transfer window and hope to beat Barcelona to the Argentina international’s signature.
Alvarez has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona for some time now, as the Catalan giants look for a successor for veteran striker Robert Lewandowski.
Reliable journalist Gaston Edul has provided an update on social media and says PSG are very much in the race for Alvarez.
“PSG has always wanted Julián Álvarez.
It’s not a new interest. They wanted him since he was at Manchester City and he was about to leave. In this market, as in the previous ones, they probe and are going to make an attempt,” he posted on X.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone has recently claimed there’s interest from Arsenal, PSG and Barcelona in Alvarez ahead of the summer transfer window.
Doubts remain over whether Barca can actually afford to land the Atletico star but his huge price tag may not be so much of a problem for PSG.
