The Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers in Week 12, looking to stack back-to-back wins after upsetting the No. 23 Washington Huskies 13-10 last weekend.
It was Wisconsin’s first win
since Week 2, as the Badgers built off a strong defensive performance to generate just enough offense for the victory. The Badgers were led by freshmen linebackers Mason Posa and Cooper Catalano, who each earned Big Ten defensive awards for their record-setting performances.
Wisconsin also went with freshman quarterback Carter Smith, who replaced an injured Danny O’Neil, for the majority of the game, and will go that direction once again this weekend. Smith only had eight passing yards, but rushed 15 times for 47 yards and a touchdown.
The Badgers face an Indiana team that narrowly beat the Penn State Nittany Lions on the road 27-24, thanks to a last-minute touchdown drive that was capped by an incredible Omar Cooper Jr. catch. With the win, they improved to 10-0, and will look to extend their dominance to Saturday’s game as they return home.
Indiana is both an elite offense and defense with Heisman contender Fernando Mendoza at the helm. They’re an extremely tough matchup for anybody, let alone the 3-6 Badgers.
