Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NCAA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Michigan fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
The Michigan Wolverines Football team received sanctions from the NCAA last week in relation to Connor Stalions’ advanced scouting tactics. Michigan is expected to receive a fine north of $20 million, head coach Sherrone Moore will serve a three-game suspension spread out over
the next two years, as well as a 25% reduction of football official visits this season.
Former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh received a ten-year show cause, Stalions received an eight-year show cause, and Denard Robinson received a three-year show cause.
Michigan is appealing the sanctions and this process is expected to play out well into 2026. Michigan alleges the NCAA lacks evidence to punish Michigan even to this level. While pundits and fans of opposing rivals think Michigan got off easy, Michigan fans find Jim Harbaugh’s ten-year show cause to be ridiculous since Harbaugh was never proven to know of Stalions’ advanced scouting network. Further, the overall penalties don’t seem excessive besides the fine amount, which is certainly worth lawyering up about.
That leads us to the survey questions for this edition of SB Nation Reacts. We have three this week. We want to know if you think Michigan got the hammer from the NCAA, if Harbaugh’s show cause is excessive, and if you agree with Michigan appealing the suspension. Vote below.
