The Knights split their series against the Jumbo Shrimp (32-25) to remain slightly better than .500. Overall, it was a solid performance filled with several strong individual efforts against one of the International League’s best teams.
For the second time in three weeks, Jacob Gonzalez, 23, was the Knight of the Week, as he has been alternating with LaMonte Wade Jr. However, this week was special for multiple reasons. Gonzalez went 8-for-15 with four homers, two doubles, 10 RBIs, a walk, and a stolen base in his only attempt. This was an absolutely monstrous individual effort that resulted in an OPS better than 2.000, and by the end of it Gonzalez had earned a promotion to the White Sox. Overall, the star infielder slashed .317/.419/.668 (168 wRC+) in 52 games with the Knights, and he showed that he deserves an opportunity in the majors.

The Barons held their own against Pensacola (26-25), splitting the series to hold steady at 12 games worse than .500. This was one of Birmingham’s better weeks of the season, as it has been a tough season for this squad.
Outfielder Drake Logan, 25, who has primarily played left for the Barons this season, had a big week to lead the way for Birmingham. Logan went 6-for-17 with two homers, two doubles, two walks, and three RBIs. Logan has played 18 games with the Barons this season, and he got off to a slow start. But he flipped the script against Pensacola. Prior to this series, Logan’s Double-A OPS was only .406 in a limited sample size, but he raised that all the way to .697. Logan’s home run on Thursday turned out to be an important play during Birmingham’s exciting, 10-inning victory. If Logan can build on this momentum, he will find himself in Charlotte in the near future.

The Dash continued their winning ways against the Emperors (27-24), finishing strong by winning on Saturday and Sunday to take the series.
The Winston-Salem pitching staff was impressive across the board, only allowing 14 runs (2.33 per game). While the Dash did an excellent job of preventing runs overall, reliever Morris Austin, 26, stood out from the crowd. Austin provided 4 2/3 shutout innings of excellent relief, striking out five and allowing zero hits. Austin has been terrific, with this week’s strong performance, he lowered his ERA with the Dash to 2.28. Austin was with the Dash for the majority of his 2025 season, when he was decent (4.33 ERA, 4.44 FIP), but he has reached a completely different level this year.

The Cannon Ballers have turned their slow start around, winning two-thirds of their games in May to climb above .500. Despite the surprisingly strong month, they did cool off a bit, dropping a competitive series against Augusta (29-22).
Outfielder James Taussig, 23, was did an excellent job at the plate. Taussig only appeared in four of the six games, but he made his time on the field count. Taussig went 3-for-10 with a homer, a double, and four walks en route to a 1.200 OPS. Overall, in 29 games, all with the Cannon Ballers, Taussig is slashing .228/.357/.478 (122 wRC+), as he has been a very reliable batter. Taussig is a large reason for the 18-9 month of May that the Cannon Ballers just put together.

The Complex Sox struggled again, and they have still only won one-third of their games. It is no surprise they are in last place in the West division of the Arizona Complex League. The Complex Sox have a -35 run differential, which is last in the division, but they do have a better differential than the ACL Athletics and the ACL Dodgers.
Catcher and first baseman José M. Mendoza, 18, went 6-for-17 with a homer, four RBIs, and a walk. As a result, Mendoza led the team in OPS among players with at least 10 at-bats. Overall, despite the team’s slow start, Mendoza has been a bright spot, slashing .275/.326/.525 on the season.
