For Duke fans, seeing Zion Williamson’s extraordinary game in Cameron was a once in a lifetime treat.
Williamson is unlike anyone else. At 6-6 and maybe 265 now – he’s clearly lost weight but it’s not officially
changed – Williamson has been compared to a flying refrigerator. His build and explosiveness is utterly unique.
Injuries have really limited his NBA career, but when he’s healthy, he’s the same remarkable talent, only more refined.
In the season opener against Memphis and his old AAU teammate Ja Morant, Williamson sparkled. He finished with 27 points, nine rebounds (including five offensive) and five assists.
Here are his highlights. What always amazes us is that everyone knows what he’s going to do, but no one can stop it. It’s a level of athletic superiority that is just amazing to see. Maybe Charles Barkley was close to it.
Actually, that’s a really fun thing to consider: who would those to have played each other? That would have been incredibly interesting.
